Audit Senior Manager - Belfast
MCS Group are looking for an Audit Senior Manager to join a long standing accountancy practice in Belfast.
The Company:
Our client is a well-established accountancy practice with an office in Belfast (HQ) and County Armagh, providing a full range of Accounts, Audit, Tax and Payroll services to a diverse client base across Northern Ireland. They are now looking to appoint an Audit Senior Manager to join their team and take on a key role within the practice, working closely with a varied portfolio of clients across NI.

The Role:
As the successful Audit Senior Manager you will be reporting to the Partner and will be responsible for the following duties:
- Manage a varied portfolio of Accounts and Audit clients, overseeing assignments from planning through to completion.
- Lead and review the preparation of year-end accounts and financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
- Manage external audits, identifying key risks, resolving technical accounting and audit matters, and ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and providing commercial and technical advice.
- Supervise, coach, and develop junior team members, reviewing their work and providing ongoing technical guidance.
- Oversee multiple assignments to ensure they are delivered within agreed budgets and deadlines, while maintaining high professional and quality standards.
The Person:
The successful Audit Senior Manager will meet the following criteria:
- ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with strong experience in Accounts and Audit, ideally gained within a mid-tier accountancy practice. Strong Big 4 candidates will also be considered.
- Proven experience managing accounts and audit assignments from planning through to completion, with the ability to manage a varied client portfolio.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, UK GAAP and UK auditing standards, with experience preparing, reviewing and auditing financial statements.
- Previous experience supervising and developing junior team members, with strong communication, organisational and client relationship skills.
- Commercially aware, proactive and detail-focused, with the ability to manage deadlines, budgets and multiple client priorities while maintaining a high standard of work.
