Senior Accountant/Assistant Manager - Belfast (Hybrid)

MCS Group are looking for a Senior Accountant/Assistant Manager to join a well established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in Belfast.

The Company:

Our client is a well-established Belfast accountancy practice offering Audit, Accounts, Corporate Finance, Tax and Payroll services to a diverse client base across NI, ROI and the US.

Having recently joined a global accountancy network, the firm is entering an exciting period of growth, with increased cross-border collaboration, new clients and opportunities. They are now looking to add a Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager to the team.

The Role:

As the successful Senior Accountant/Assistant Manager you will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare and review year-end accounts for Limited Companies, Sole Traders and Partnerships
• Handle associated tax computations and returns
• Get involved in M&A, client transactions, fundraising and ad-hoc projects
• Manage and mentor junior team members
• Help coordinate workloads and support the wider accounts team
• Build strong, trusted relationships with clients
• Opportunity to step up into Assistant Manager responsibilities and take on more ownership

The Person:

The successful Senior Accountant /Assistant Manager will meet the following criteria:

• ACA/ACCA qualified is preference
• Will consider strong Part-Qualifed Accountants/Accounts Technicians/QBE
• Audit experience is a bonus
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Experience with Xero, QuickBooks or similar cloud accounting software
• Confident using Excel, Word and other relevant IT systems
• Organised, proactive and ready to take the next step in your career
