Software Project Manager (Fully Remote)

MCS Group is delighted to be working with an established HealthTech software company looking to appoint a Senior Technical Project Manager.

This is a succession hire for a long standing senior team member, with a structured handover already planned. You'll take ownership of multiple software delivery streams covering product development, customer implementations and technical integrations.

The role remains close to engineering delivery. You'll work directly with Engineering, Product and QA teams, driving day-to-day execution rather than operating solely at programme or PMO level.

The key requirements...

• Previous project or delivery management experience ideally within HealthTech or MedTech software

• A technical foundation gained through either:

  Previous hands-on software engineering experience or a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• At least five years' experience managing software projects
• Strong experience delivering through Agile engineering teams using Scrum or Kanban
• Evidence of managing complex, concurrent delivery streams
• The ability to bring structure and planning visibility to fast-moving or ambiguous environments
• Strong stakeholder and customer communication skills

What you'll be doing...

• Own end-to-end delivery across product, integration and customer implementation projects
• Turn the product roadmap into clear delivery plans, milestones and dependencies
• Coordinate work across Engineering, Product, QA and Commercial teams
• Lead planning sessions, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
• Track delivery risks, issues, budgets and dependencies
• Provide clear reporting on delivery progress, quality and potential risks
• Manage customer expectations throughout implementation projects
• Support project scoping and ensure proposed solutions are technically and commercially deliverable
• Improve delivery processes, documentation and ways of working
• Support release governance, incident planning and operational continuity
• Ensure delivery meets the required healthcare quality and compliance standards

Experience with MDR, ISO/IEC standards, medical device software or other regulated healthcare environments would be particularly valuable. Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and modern CI/CD workflows is also useful.

You'll suit this role if you're calm under pressure, technically credible and comfortable challenging teams constructively. You should be able to introduce structure without unnecessary bureaucracy and balance delivery speed with product quality and patient safety.
