SHEQ Officer

MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a SHEQ Officer for our client, a utilities and construction business operating across multiple UK locations. This is an excellent opportunity for a health and safety professional to join the SHEQ function, develop their experience and work towards further professional qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Support health and safety policies, procedures and compliance across company operations and sites.
• Conduct site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and areas for improvement.
• Assist with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture through training and workforce engagement.
• Maintain SHEQ documentation and support quality management systems.
• Travel to sites as required.

Requirements

• At least three years' experience in a health and safety role.
• Background in utilities, construction or civil engineering.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification desirable.
• Willingness to develop professionally and work towards further qualifications.
