Senior Backend Developer - AI-Driven Product | €65k - €80k | Hybrid ( 2 Days in Dublin)

We're working with a scaling Irish tech company building AI-powered products.

They've recently gone through a period of growth and product expansion, and are now hiring a senior backend developer to support the next phase of their platform.

This is a strong opportunity to join a business where engineering has real influence - not just delivering tickets, but shaping how products evolve.

The Opportunity

You'll join a collaborative engineering team working across two core products, both hosted on AWS and used by customers in regulated, high-impact environments.

There's a mix of legacy and modern architecture across the platform, so the work is varied and hands-on:

• improving system stability and performance
• building and enhancing APIs
• working across integrations and data flows
• contributing to ongoing product development and technical improvements

This is not a narrow role. You'll be trusted to take ownership, solve problems, and contribute ideas.

Tech Environment

• PHP (Laravel) and Java (Spring) across the platform
• AWS infrastructure
• REST APIs
• Mix of monolith and microservices
• Databases, integrations, and backend-heavy problem solving

You don't need experience in both PHP and Java - strong experience in one is enough, with an openness to learn the other over time.

What They're Looking For

• 5+ years backend development experience
• Strong skills in either PHP/Laravel or Java/Spring
• Experience working with APIs and backend systems
• Comfortable working across complex systems and integrations
• Someone who takes ownership and can think beyond assigned tasks
• ComComfortable using AI tools to improve productivity and problem-solving

• ability to work with autonomy
• openness to new ideas and ways of working
