MCS Group is recruiting a Sales Manager for an established builders' merchant at its modern, purpose-built Ballymena branch.

This is a hands-on opportunity to lead an internal sales team, develop customer relationships and win new business. With an experienced Branch Manager in place and a branch that has grown significantly in recent years, you'll have a strong platform to build on.

The role

You'll manage three internal sales colleagues, setting the pace through your own sales activity while helping the team deliver profitable growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, coaching and motivating the internal sales team.

• Developing existing accounts and identifying new customers.

• Driving outbound sales calls, following up quotations and improving conversion.

• Managing pricing and negotiations to achieve sales and margin targets.

• Delivering sales campaigns and introducing your own ideas to grow the business.

• Working closely with the Branch Manager to maintain strong customer service.

There is also scope for your remit to grow as the branch develops its external sales activity.

What we're looking for

You'll be commercially minded, confident building relationships and proactive about generating business. You'll also enjoy supporting others and setting a clear example through your own performance.

Merchanting or building products experience would be valuable, particularly if you're ready to take your first step into sales management. Experienced sales leaders from other sectors will also be considered.

The role is based in Ballymena, working Monday-Friday with alternate Saturdays.
