Recruitment Manager | Construction | NI & London
MCS Group is pleased to be supporting a prominent Northern Ireland organisation with the appointment of a Recruitment Manager.
This is a search for an experienced recruitment professional who can lead a busy internal hiring function while remaining closely involved in recruitment delivery. The organisation is entering an important period of development, making this an excellent opportunity to influence how it identifies, engages and recruits talent.
A significant element of the position will involve supporting recruitment activity in London. The successful candidate must be comfortable travelling to London regularly and bring a strong understanding of the city's recruitment market, candidate landscape and sourcing channels.
The role
Working as part of an established People team, you will oversee recruitment across a diverse range of professional, operational and specialist appointments. Alongside managing priority vacancies directly, you will guide the internal recruitment team and help the wider business plan for future workforce requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating recruitment activity across multiple business areas and locations.
- Taking a visible and active role in recruitment activity within London.
- Developing candidate networks and sourcing strategies appropriate to the London market.
- Advising managers on recruitment campaigns, candidate availability and selection decisions.
- Identifying prospective candidates through networking, research and targeted outreach.
- Building longer-term pipelines for specialist and difficult-to-recruit positions.
- Improving recruitment processes and promoting a consistent candidate experience.
- Supporting and developing colleagues involved in recruitment delivery.
- Using recruitment information to highlight progress, market challenges and emerging talent needs.
- Contributing to attraction campaigns and broader employer-reputation activity.
About you
You will be an accomplished recruitment professional with experience managing vacancies from initial briefing through to appointment. You should be comfortable operating in a demanding environment, balancing immediate hiring priorities with longer-term improvements.
It is essential that you have:
- Significant end-to-end recruitment experience gained internally, within an agency or through a combination of both, specifically in a construction or engineering environment.
- A strong working knowledge of the London recruitment market, including candidate expectations, sourcing approaches and local hiring challenges.
- The ability and flexibility to travel to London regularly.
- Evidence of successfully recruiting across varied roles, including specialist or senior appointments.
- Strong candidate-sourcing, talent-mapping and market-research capability.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and providing informed recruitment advice.
- The judgement to question requirements constructively and recommend alternative approaches.
- An organised and commercially aware approach to managing competing priorities.
- Experience supporting, coaching or supervising other recruitment professionals.
- Confidence using recruitment technology, data and reporting tools.
Experience gained within a sizeable, multi-location or technically oriented organisation would be helpful, although applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate relevant transferable experience.
The opportunity
This position offers the opportunity to assume genuine ownership of an important business function and shape its future direction. It will particularly suit someone who enjoys combining strategic improvement with hands-on recruitment and who is confident developing a strong presence within the London talent market.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive remuneration package and access to a broad range of employee benefits and development opportunities.
