QA Automation Engineer

Location: Remote (Ireland)
Salary: €50,000 - €55,000 + Benefits

I'm working with one of Ireland's fastest-growing fintech scale-ups as they continue to expand their engineering team following a number of recent hires.

They're now looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join a collaborative, automation-first engineering team where quality is viewed as a shared responsibility, not something that's added at the end of the development process.

This is an opportunity to work alongside Product Managers, Software Engineers and Engineering Leads from the very beginning of the software development lifecycle, helping shape testing strategy, improving automation and influencing how quality is delivered across the platform.

What you'll be doing

  • Building and maintaining automated UI and API test suites

  • Expanding existing automation frameworks across modern web applications

  • Working closely with developers during feature delivery

  • Participating in refinement sessions, test planning and Three Amigos discussions

  • Designing test strategies for new features

  • Carrying out exploratory, regression and release testing where required

  • Helping improve CI/CD pipelines and automation processes

  • Identifying opportunities to improve quality, coverage and engineering practices

What they're looking for

You'll ideally have experience with a number of the following:

  • 5+ years in QA Automation

  • Strong automation experience using tools such as Cypress and Playwright (ideally both_

  • API testing experience (REST APIs, Postman, REST Assured etc.)

  • CI/CD experience

  • SQL and database validation

  • Experience working within Agile engineering teams

  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to work independently

  • Someone who enjoys solving problems rather than waiting for direction

Experience within fintech, payments, identity, security or other regulated environments would be beneficial but isn't essential.

Tech you'll work around

  • Cypress

  • Playwright

  • TypeScript

  • Java

  • REST APIs

  • AWS

  • SQL

  • CI/CD

  • TestMo

Why join?

  • Fully remote role

  • High levels of ownership and autonomy

  • Modern engineering environment

  • Automation-first culture

  • Strong collaboration between QA, Product and Engineering

  • Opportunity to influence testing strategy rather than simply execute test cases

  • Engineering team actively embracing AI tooling and modern ways of working

  • Annual salary reviews

  • Wellness allowance

  • Educational support

  • Work abroad for up to two weeks each year

  • Quarterly team events and regular company socials

If you're an automation-focused QA Engineer looking for a role where you'll genuinely influence engineering quality and work alongside a strong technical team, I'd be happy to tell you more.
