Pre-Construction Manager/Estimating Manager

MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Pre-Construction Manager for our client, a leading construction contractor delivering high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK and Ireland. This role would suit an experienced Estimating Manager, Senior Estimator or Pre-Construction Manager looking to take the next step in leading a growing estimating function and shaping bid strategy across high-value projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the estimating team.
• Develop bid win strategies and programmes with senior management.
• Oversee tenders from initial opportunity through to award and handover.
• Review tender documentation and identify key risks and opportunities.
• Lead internal and external tender meetings.
• Develop competitive pricing strategies based on market conditions.
• Support new business development and client relationships.
• Mentor and develop the estimating team.

Requirements

• Strong estimating experience within construction, ideally fit-out/refurbishment.
• Previous experience managing or leading an estimating team.
• Experience delivering projects up to £30m.
• Understanding of single-stage, two-stage and negotiated tenders.
• Experience with estimating software.
• Strong commercial, communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant Estimating, Quantity Surveying or construction qualification.
• RICS/CIOB/A. Cost E membership desirable.
