IT Support Engineer

Location: Dublin, fully on site
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: Confidential
Notice period: A four-week notice period is acceptable

About the Company

Our client operates in the transport and logistics sector, with IT systems supporting staff across Irish sites. The IT team plays an important role in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.

The Role

You'll provide local and remote IT support across the company's sites. Alongside supporting computers, software and users, you'll help maintain and install wireless and network infrastructure, CCTV and access control systems.

This is a varied role that combines IT support with practical, site-based work. You'll need to be comfortable working at height, moving around vessels and working outdoors in challenging conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support across Irish sites.
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot wireless and network infrastructure.
  • Support PCs, associated equipment and business software.
  • Install, configure and maintain CCTV and access control systems.
  • Monitor and respond to requests through the helpdesk, support inboxes and call queue.
  • Administer bespoke IT systems, with training provided where required.
  • Support IT procurement, stock management and supplier relationships.
  • Contribute to IT projects and work closely with the wider IT team.
  • Take part in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
  • Work at height when required and follow health and safety procedures.

Experience and Skills

  • Hands-on experience in IT support, field service or a similar technical role.
  • Practical experience with CCTV and access control systems.
  • Experience maintaining or installing wireless networking infrastructure.
  • A methodical approach to troubleshooting and managing your workload.
  • The ability to work well with colleagues, suppliers and users at all levels.
  • Comfortable working in challenging environments, climbing stairs and working at height in a demanding environment.

Relevant qualifications have not been specified as essential. Experience in a similar field-based or industrial IT environment would be useful, and experience with comparable systems can transfer well.

What's on Offer

  • 25 days' annual leave.
  • Employer pension contribution of 5%, with a 3% employee contribution.
  • Life insurance at three times basic salary.
  • Sick pay following 12 months' service.
  • A varied role supporting operationally important IT systems.
  • Training relevant to the role.
