Infrastructure & Cyber Security Project Manager

Location: Newry | Hybrid - 3 days on-site

An opportunity has opened for an experienced Infrastructure & Cyber Security Project Manager to join an established organisation in Newry during a significant period of investment across its technology estate.

The role will take ownership of major infrastructure, networking and cyber security projects, with immediate programmes including network and hosted infrastructure upgrades alongside a longer-term cyber improvement programme.

This is a project delivery position rather than a hands-on engineering role. You'll need enough technical understanding to work confidently with infrastructure and security teams, challenge suppliers and understand technical dependencies, but your primary responsibility will be driving projects from initiation through to successful delivery.

The role

You'll take responsibility for end-to-end delivery across a portfolio covering infrastructure modernisation, networking and cyber security.

Initial projects include significant network and hosted infrastructure upgrades, followed by continued involvement in a long-term cyber improvement programme.

Responsibilities will include:

• Lead infrastructure and cyber security projects from initiation through to completion.
• Deliver medium-to-large technology projects, typically in the £250k-£500k range.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, risks and dependencies.
• Coordinate internal infrastructure, security and architecture teams alongside external vendors.
• Manage third-party suppliers and hold partners accountable for delivery.
• Oversee projects across network, server and hosted infrastructure.
• Support delivery of cyber security tooling and wider security improvement initiatives.
• Ensure appropriate governance, reporting and project controls are maintained.
• Communicate progress, risks and decisions clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Manage interdependencies between technical workstreams and wider business requirements.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an established IT Project Manager with enough technical grounding to operate confidently across infrastructure and cyber programmes.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience delivering infrastructure and/or cyber security projects.
• Experience managing sizeable technology projects and associated budgets.
• A background involving network upgrades, server/infrastructure transformation, cloud migration or similar programmes.
• Strong vendor and third-party management experience.
• Experience driving delivery across multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
• A good understanding of networking, infrastructure resilience and security principles.
• The ability to manage technical projects without needing to be the hands-on engineer.
• Experience within a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical, financial services, manufacturing or another governance-heavy sector.
• Strong project governance, risk management and stakeholder communication skills.

Exposure to technologies or environments involving Microsoft 365, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, Active Directory, firewalls, WAN, SD-LAN/WLAN, SIEM or wider security tooling would be beneficial. NIST or ISO 27001 awareness would also be advantageous.
