The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen to join Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI) as an ICT Business Analyst within its Applications Team, supporting the delivery and ongoing development of key business systems across the organisation.
This is a varied position combining business analysis, stakeholder engagement, application configuration and project delivery. You'll work across a broad technology environment, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, SharePoint, analytics, AI and enterprise applications, helping translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
Reporting to the Applications Manager, you'll play an important role in improving existing systems, supporting digital transformation initiatives and delivering projects that enhance how Invest NI operates locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements, review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Gather and document requirements, develop specifications and prepare business cases to support technology initiatives.
Configure, develop and optimise core business applications, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, SharePoint and associated systems.
Support or lead ICT projects, managing implementation plans, suppliers, testing and delivery.
Work with external technology partners on system enhancements, integrations and larger change requests.
Develop test plans and coordinate system, integration, regression and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Map system dependencies, integrations and end-to-end data flows.
Support the adoption of emerging technologies, including Microsoft Copilot Studio, analytics and data warehousing solutions.
Ensure applications align with organisational security, privacy and data governance requirements.
Provide ongoing technical and application support to users across Invest NI's local and international operations.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to engage with Business Analysts, Applications Analysts or technically focused professionals who can demonstrate experience working with enterprise business systems and translating operational requirements into technology solutions.
Essential experience and capabilities include:
Experience developing or configuring digital applications, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Power BI, Cognos BI, Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, customer portals or data warehousing solutions.
Ability to identify business needs, including requirements that may not initially be clearly articulated by stakeholders.
Experience documenting user requirements, specifications, business cases or technical/end-user documentation.
Understanding of how technology can support wider business objectives and operational improvements.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence project decisions, assess risks and manage competing priorities.
Ability to collaborate with and influence internal teams, external suppliers and stakeholders at different organisational levels.
Working knowledge of application security principles.
The position would suit someone comfortable operating between business stakeholders and technical teams, with an interest in improving enterprise applications and contributing to wider digital change.
Salary & Benefits
Alongside a permanent position with Invest NI, the successful applicant will receive:
Salary of £37,694 - £38,990 (appointment at the minimum of the scale).
Additional annual ICT allowance of £3,713.
