HR Officer

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a broad generalist role where you can make a real impact across a busy manufacturing environment? MCS Group is delighted to be working with a well-established manufacturing organisation seeking to appoint an HR Officer to join their team, on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role

As HR Officer, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR service across the organisation, working closely with employees and line managers across a broad range of HR activity. From employee relations and recruitment to HR projects, policy implementation and employee engagement, this is a varied opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support across all departments, advising managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters.
  • Support employee relations processes, including low-level investigations and providing appropriate HR coaching and guidance.
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activity, including advertising, shortlisting, interview panels, selection testing and associated documentation.
  • Support HR and salary administration, including benefits administration and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Maintain and utilise HR systems and databases, extracting, analysing and reporting on HR information where required.
  • Support the development and maintenance of job descriptions and wider HR documentation.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures and processes are effectively implemented and remain aligned with employment legislation and best practice.
  • Keep up to date with developments in HR and changes to employment legislation across Northern Ireland.
  • Support the delivery of company health, wellbeing and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Assist with a range of HR projects and initiatives, including project coordination, recruitment campaigns and employee engagement activities.
  • Organise and support HR and Senior Management meetings as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a high level of confidentiality across all HR activities.

The ideal candidate

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification and/or CIPD qualification.
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Experience providing HR coaching, guidance and support to line managers and employees.
  • Strong working knowledge of Northern Ireland employment legislation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, with experience using HRIS systems desirable.
