HR Officer - Standalone

HR Officer | County Down | Permanent

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with an established food manufacturing business to recruit an HR Officer for a permanent opportunity.

This is a varied, standalone role offering ownership of day-to-day HR activity. You will work closely with the management team, providing practical advice and helping create a positive employee experience.

The role

• Manage recruitment and on boarding, including contracts and employment documentation.
• Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and employee relations matters.
• Support disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance management processes.
• Coordinate appraisals, probation reviews and employee engagement and well being initiatives.
• Maintain accurate HR records, monitor absence and holidays, and prepare people reports and statutory returns.
• Support payroll administration and coordinate training and development activity.
• Maintain health and safety training records and support confidential reporting processes.

About you

• Minimum 2 year's experience in an HR Officer, HR Coordinator or similar generalist position.
• CIPD qualified or currently working towards a relevant CIPD qualification.
• Experience supporting recruitment and on boarding.
• A sound understanding of HR best practice and employment legislation.
• The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and build relationships across the business.
• Experience with NI Employment law is required.
