Employee Relations Lead - Permanent - Newly created role
MCS Group is exclusively partnering with a leading organisation as they seek to appoint an Employee Relations Lead to join their People function.
This is a senior specialist opportunity for an experienced employee relations professional who will act as the organisation's subject matter expert, providing trusted advice, governance and oversight across complex and high-risk employee matters.
The role:
You will play a key role in strengthening employee relations practices, developing management capability and ensuring policies and processes remain consistent, commercially focused and legally compliant.
The main responsibilities:
- Act as the organisation's subject matter expert across all employee relations matters.
- Provide specialist advice to People Partners, senior leaders, managers and Shared Services teams.
- Lead and oversee complex, sensitive and high-risk cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance, conduct and whistleblowing matters.
- Provide guidance throughout investigations, hearings, appeals and formal processes.
- Review investigation reports, case documentation and proposed outcomes to ensure fairness, quality and consistency.
- Develop and maintain employee relations policies, procedures, templates and governance frameworks.
- Monitor legislative changes, employment tribunal decisions, emerging case law and best practice.
- Design and deliver practical employee relations training for managers and the wider People team.
The successful candidate:
- Will have significant experience managing complex employee relations cases within a large or complex organisation within NI.
- Will possess strong and current knowledge of NI employment legislation, case law and employee relations best practice.
- Can provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice while effectively managing legal and organisational risk.
- Will have experience developing policies, procedures, guidance materials and manager toolkits.
- CIPD Qualified (desirable).
