Cyber Security Consultant
Location: Dublin
Salary: €55,000 to €70,000
Working Model: Hybrid, approximately eight days per month on-site
There is a big difference between supporting cyber security work and having genuine ownership of it.
I'm working with an established technology services business that is building a dedicated cyber consultancy team in Dublin. They are now looking for a Cyber Security Consultant who can take ownership of client engagements, deliver meaningful work and develop alongside an experienced senior team.
This is a particularly strong opportunity if you are currently working in a larger consultancy or internal security function and feel ready for more responsibility, broader exposure and a clearer development path.
The Opportunity
You will join at an exciting point in the development of the Dublin consultancy team.
The business is currently hiring at both senior and mid-level, with plans to add graduate talent in the future. You will work directly with the Head of Cyber Consultancy and alongside a Senior Consultant who will lead larger engagements, support service development and provide mentorship.
You will also have clients and engagements of your own. You will not be sitting in the background waiting for an opportunity to contribute.
The work will be varied, combining cyber governance, risk, compliance and operational resilience across organisations operating within regulated and critical sectors.
What You'll Be Doing
Managing your own customer relationships and consultancy engagements
Delivering cyber governance, risk and compliance assessments
Supporting clients with NIS2, DORA and ISO 27001
Conducting maturity, risk and regulatory gap assessments
Helping customers develop practical security improvement plans
Delivering operational resilience and incident-readiness engagements
Supporting ransomware preparedness and incident response planning
Facilitating cyber security tabletop exercises
Contributing to virtual CISO and wider advisory engagements
Translating technical and regulatory requirements into clear, practical recommendations
Working closely with senior consultants while retaining ownership of your own delivery
What They're Looking For
You will ideally have around five years of cyber security experience, although the quality of your experience matters more than an exact number.
You should bring:
Previous customer-facing cyber security, consultancy or advisory experience
Strong GRC knowledge supported by a solid technical understanding
Experience with frameworks or regulations such as NIS2, DORA or ISO 27001
The confidence to manage standard customer engagements from an early stage
Strong communication, report-writing and stakeholder-management skills
The ability to turn complex security requirements into practical actions
A structured, collaborative and delivery-focused approach
Experience within financial services, public sector, telecommunications, healthcare, energy, transport or digital infrastructure would be helpful, but it is not essential.
Certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CISA or ISO 27001 would also be valuable, but relevant delivery experience will carry more weight than collecting qualifications.
Why Consider It?
Join at the beginning of a growing Dublin cyber consultancy team
Take ownership of clients rather than simply supporting senior colleagues
Work across varied regulatory, risk and resilience engagements
Learn directly from experienced cyber consultancy leadership
Build towards a future Senior Consultant position
Gain exposure to recognised organisations across regulated and critical sectors
Work within a business investing in its cyber capability across Ireland and the UK
Benefit from a grown-up and flexible approach to hybrid working
The standard expectation is approximately eight days per month on-site. This can include time spent at customer locations, so you will not be expected to attend both client sites and the office simply to meet an arbitrary target.
Interview Process
The process is expected to include:
An initial Microsoft Teams interview with the Head of Cyber Consultancy
A second-stage interview, preferably held in Dublin
If you are a customer-facing cyber security professional looking for greater ownership, stronger mentorship and a genuine route towards senior consultancy, this could be an excellent next move.
