Contract Management Specialist

MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Contract Management Specialist for our client, a leading global provider of critical digital infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in contract management, commercial management or engineering project delivery to join an expanding Commercial Department.

Working alongside the Senior Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will support Change Order management, contractual claims and commercial matters across active engineering projects, with opportunities for long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify changes to project scope, contractual variations and additional works.
• Prepare and manage Change Order submissions, including commercial justifications and cost breakdowns.
• Monitor contractual notification requirements and ensure changes are formally documented.
• Manage variations through to negotiation, agreement and financial recovery.
• Provide commercial and contractual support to Project Managers throughout project delivery.
• Assess client instructions and scope changes to establish commercial implications.
• Assist with customer claims, back-charges, contra-charges and contractual disputes.
• Prepare commercial responses and supporting documentation to protect the company's contractual position.
• Work with project, commercial and legal teams to resolve contractual issues and minimise risk.

Requirements

• Experience in contract management, commercial management, quantity surveying or engineering project delivery.
• Exposure to variations, Change Orders, contract administration or commercial claims.
• Experience within construction, engineering or a related technical industry.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• A relevant third-level qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
• M&E/MEP construction or engineering experience would be beneficial.

The client is open to different levels of experience: Ideally, candidates will have around 3-5 years' relevant commercial or contract management experience. However, they will also consider developing professionals with strong contract administration or commercial experience from other sectors, provided they have some exposure to construction or engineering. More experienced candidates with direct Change Order and claims management experience will also be considered.
