Accounts Payable Specialist

MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, multi-site organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their expanding finance team in Newry.

The Company

Our client is a leading organisation operating across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, with a strong presence in the manufacturing sector. They have a well-established reputation within their industry and continue to invest in the growth of their finance function. Due to continued expansion and increasing workload, they are looking to appoint an Accounts Payable Specialist to support their busy finance team.

The Rewards

As the successful Accounts Payable Specialist, you will receive:

• Salary of £30,000 - £34,000 (flexible depending on experience)
• 31 days annual leave, increasing with years of service

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:

• Reviewing AP ledgers and completing supplier statement reconciliations
• Processing payment runs, invoices and credit notes
• Following up on missing invoices and resolving supplier queries
• Maintaining accurate AP records and resolving discrepancies
• Supporting process improvements and positive supplier relationships

The Person

The successful Accounts Payable Specialist will have:

• Around 3 years Accounts Payable experience
• Strong AP knowledge, including three-way matching, supplier reconciliations and payment runs
• Experience reviewing ledgers and resolving discrepancies
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
