MCS Group are working with The Business Services Organisation (BSO) to recruit Operations Support (System Support) Band 5 to join its Digital Operations team on a temporary basis until the end of November 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting ICT services that underpin Health and Social Care across Northern Ireland. Working within the Information Technology Services (ITS) Directorate, you will provide 2nd line technical support, troubleshoot complex ICT issues, support system implementation and maintenance, and work closely with users, suppliers and internal support teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality ICT services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse, diagnose and resolve ICT incidents and service requests.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to customers and system users.
  • Support system maintenance, implementation and service improvements.
  • Monitor ICT services to ensure performance, availability and compliance.
  • Assist with audit reporting, documentation and ICT governance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers, stakeholders and internal teams to deliver effective ICT solutions.

Essential Criteria

  • A university degree in a computer science related discipline or equivalent recognised ICT professional qualification PLUS 1 years recent relevant experience*

OR

  • An HND in a computer science related discipline AND 2 years relevant experience*

OR

  • 4 years relevant experience*

Relevant experience is defined as providing or supporting information and communications technology systems in a business environment. "Business environment" in this context includes ICT areas such as Application support and maintenance.

Applicants must also demonstrate:

  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to meet the needs of the post in full.
  • Proven ability to use own initiative and to work with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to undertake detailed investigations, analyse complex data, present results in appropriate manners and make sound recommendations;
  • Ability to:
    (a) work accurately;
    (b) demonstrate attention to detail; and
    (c) prioritise and organise workload;
    within a pressurised environment and to tight project timescales.
