Software Engineering Manager (.NET & Cloud)

I'm working with a well-funded, high-growth software start-up that's entering an exciting new phase of its journey. With an established product, growing customer base and ambitious plans for the future, they're now looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead one of their software engineering teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who still enjoys being hands-on technically while helping shape engineering standards, mentoring developers and driving the delivery of high-quality software. Rather than stepping away from engineering, you'll continue solving complex technical problems while playing a key role in growing both the team and the product.

(Hybrid - Dublin City Centre - 4 days per week on-site)

The role...

You'll lead a software engineering team responsible for designing, building and delivering high-quality software while working closely with Product, QA and Platform Engineering.

This is expected to be a highly hands-on role (around 80-90% technical initially), making it ideal for someone who enjoys writing code, designing scalable software and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities...

• Lead the delivery of new software features from design through to production
• Remain hands-on across software development and technical decision making
• Mentor and develop engineers while building a high-performing team
• Drive engineering standards around code quality, testing and architecture
• Work closely with Product, QA and Platform Engineering teams
• Contribute to system design and architectural decisions
• Support hiring and team growth as the business continues to scale
• Champion Agile development and engineering best practice

• Mobile development (nice to have)
• Azure DevOps

About you...

You'll come from a Software Engineering background and enjoy remaining close to the technology while helping engineers develop and succeed.

You'll have experience with:

• .NET / C#
• Angular or another modern frontend framework
• Designing and delivering scalable software
• REST API development
• SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• AWS or another public cloud platform
• Agile software development
• Coaching and mentoring engineers

Previous Engineering Manager experience is welcomed, but I'm equally keen to speak with experienced Senior or Lead Software Engineers who are ready to take the next step into leadership.
