Software Engineer (frontend focused - 12 month)

MCS Group is delighted to be exclusively working with a leading Belfast-based technology organisation that is looking to add a frontend focused Software Engineer to their growing development team.

This company provides mission-critical software solutions to customers across the UK and Ireland. This company offers the stability and investment of a large organisation while maintaining a close-knit, collaborative engineering culture.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join a team embarking on a major application rebuild. You will have the chance to work on new product development, contribute to architectural decisions and broaden your technical skill set across frontend, backend and cloud technologies.

The Role

You will join a collaborative engineering team where you will:

• Develop and deliver new features for a modern customer-facing application.
• Work predominantly across frontend development while contributing to backend services and APIs.
• Build high-quality, responsive applications with a strong focus on user experience.
• Collaborate with product, QA and engineering teams to deliver reliable software.
• Take ownership of features throughout the full development lifecycle.
• Gain exposure to cloud technologies and modern engineering practices.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a Software Engineer with:

• Commercial development experience.
• Strong JavaScript experience and experience with a modern frontend framework (React, Angular or Vue).
• A good understanding of backend development and API integration.
• Experience with .NET, Java or Node.js technologies.
• Exposure to Agile development environments.
• Experience working with version control and CI/CD processes.
