We're working with a fast-growing Irish start-up that has raised over €4M to date and is now scaling its engineering team.

They've built a strong product already in market, leveraging AI & automation heavily and are entering the next phase of growth, with more customers coming on board and a clear roadmap ahead.

It's a small, high-performing team where every engineer has real impact on both the product and the direction of the business.

The Opportunity

This isn't a role where you'll just pick up tickets and disappear into the codebase.

You'll be working closely with the Head of Engineering and wider team to build, shape, and improve a live product, with real ownership from day one.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be building and scaling backend systems that support a real-world product used by customers today.

The role sits somewhere between backend and product engineering, so you'll be involved in everything from developing features and APIs through to thinking about how the product should evolve.

There's a strong emphasis on collaboration, problem-solving, and taking ownership rather than being handed tightly defined tasks.

Tech Stack

• Elixir (Phoenix, LiveView)
• Open to Ruby on Rails or Python backgrounds
• Some frontend exposure (React) is a bonus

What They're Looking For

• Strong backend engineering experience (5+ years ideally)
• Solid understanding of databases and data modelling
• Experience working in start-ups or small, fast-moving teams
• Someone who takes ownership and is comfortable working autonomously
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with product teams
• Actively using AI in your development workflow

Nice to Have

• Experience with Elixir, Phoenix or LiveView
• Exposure to frontend technologies (React or similar)
• Experience building or scaling early-stage products

Working Setup

• Hybrid working - typically 3 days in the Dublin office but open for the right candidate depending on locality
• Flexible hours (no rigid start times)
• Collaborative, flat team structure

Package

• €90,000 - €110,000 salary (flex depending on experience)
• Equity in a growing start-up
• 30 days annual leave
