Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Cybersecurity Startup - Dublin, Hybrid, 1 day per week.
We're partnering with a fast-growing cybersecurity startup in Dublin that is building a modern threat intelligence platform used by organisations to identify, prioritise, and respond to emerging cyber risks.
Over the past few years, the business has built an extensive vulnerability and threat intelligence dataset containing tens of millions of historical events, exploits, indicators, and threat actor insights.
The next phase of growth is focused on predictive machine learning.
The Opportunity
Historically, cybersecurity platforms have largely been reactive, helping organisations understand what has already happened.
This team is investing heavily in machine learning capabilities that can help predict what is likely to happen next.
The goal is to build models capable of identifying emerging threats, prioritising vulnerabilities, detecting behavioural patterns, and helping customers make better security decisions before incidents occur.
This is a genuine opportunity to shape the future direction of machine learning within a growing cybersecurity product and work with large-scale real-world datasets from day one.
The Role
You'll join a highly autonomous product engineering team and become the first dedicated Machine Learning Engineer focused on predictive intelligence.
You'll be responsible for designing, building, deploying, monitoring, and improving machine learning models that directly impact customer outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
* Predictive modelling and classification systems
* Anomaly detection and pattern analysis
* Training, evaluating and improving ML models
* Monitoring model performance, drift and reliability
* Production deployment and optimisation of ML systems
* Working with large-scale vulnerability and threat datasets
* Collaborating with engineering, product and R&D teams
* Helping shape the future ML strategy of the business
This is not a research position.
The models you build will be deployed into production and used directly by customers.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in speaking with Machine Learning Engineers who have experience building and maintaining production ML systems.
Experience in some of the following would be beneficial:
* Python
* Predictive modelling
* Classification models
* Anomaly detection
* Production machine learning systems
* Model monitoring and drift management
* MLOps and deployment pipelines
* TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn or similar frameworks
* Large-scale structured and unstructured datasets
Experience within cybersecurity is advantageous but absolutely not essential.
More important is experience owning machine learning systems end-to-end and a genuine interest in solving complex real-world problems.
Package
* Up to €120,000 depending on experience
* Equity
* Pension
* Remote-first environment
* High ownership and autonomy
* Significant influence over the future ML direction of the company
