Senior Backend Engineer (PHP / Laravel or Polyglot) - AI Fintech

Dublin - Hybrid (2 days onsite)
€70,000 - €80,000 + benefits + equity

We're partnered with a scaling Irish tech business building AI-driven products in the fintech sector.

They've got real traction, real customers, and a strong engineering team already in place.

The Opportunity

This is not a "just come in and code" role.

This is a senior hire to help shape and improve an existing product.

The platform is well established but now needs someone who can:

• Raise engineering standards
• Improve structure and best practices
• Mentor and support other engineers
• Bring a bit more ownership and direction into the team

You'll be working closely with an experienced Architect, but you'll be expected to bring your own ideas and influence.

Tech Stack

• PHP
• Laravel (current framework)
• AWS
• APIs / integrations
• Mix of legacy and modern systems

Important: You do not need to come from Laravel specifically

They're open to strong backend engineers from:

• PHP
• Ruby on Rails
• Go
• Other backend environments

If you're capable of picking things up and improving systems, that's what matters.

What They're Looking For

• Strong backend engineering background
• Experience working on live, production systems
• Someone who has improved or evolved an existing codebase

More importantly:

• Mentorship or leadership experience
• Someone who can introduce better practices
• Someone who sees problems and takes ownership

• €70,000 - €80,000 base
