This is a unique opportunity to join a respected multidisciplinary team and play a central role in building a high-quality ADHD prescribing service within an already well-established clinical setting.
You will take ownership of medication initiation, titration and ongoing management, while contributing to the development of clinical pathways, governance frameworks and a scalable service model designed to meet growing demand.
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will:
* Lead the initiation, titration and ongoing management of ADHD medication in adults.
* Provide regular monitoring and review of patients in line with best practice and NICE guidelines.
* Issue private prescriptions and maintain accurate, high-quality clinical documentation.
* Take full clinical responsibility for prescribing decisions and patient safety.
* Develop and implement prescribing protocols, policies and governance frameworks.
* Work closely with psychologists and other clinicians involved in ADHD and ASD assessments.
* Contribute to the design and development of ADHD medication pathways within the clinic.
* Support the integration of prescribing into a wider neurodevelopmental service model.
* Communicate effectively with GPs and other external healthcare professionals.
Key Requirements
Qualifications
* Registered Independent Prescriber (Psychiatrist, Nurse Prescriber or Pharmacist Prescriber).
* Relevant professional registration with appropriate governing body.
Experience and Skills
* Demonstrable experience in initiating and managing ADHD medication in adults.
* Strong working knowledge of NICE guidelines for ADHD.
* Experience working autonomously with full clinical responsibility.
* Proven ability to develop or contribute to prescribing pathways or services.
* Confidence working within a developing or evolving service environment.
* Excellent clinical judgement, communication skills and a pragmatic approach to care.
* Ability to take ownership of a service area and contribute to its growth.
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
The Package
Location: Flexible / Hybrid, with clinic-based sessions in Belfast and remote working options.
Structure: Sessional, flexible working arrangements.
Remuneration: Revenue share model aligned to service activity.
Contract Type: Self-employed.

Important Information
This is a growth-focused role within a developing service. While there is clear and existing demand for ADHD medication support, referral volumes will build over time.
This position is best suited to a clinician who is comfortable working with autonomy, taking ownership of a prescribing function, and contributing to the development of a new clinical service.
