This opportunity offers the chance to take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, supporting employees and ensuring smooth, efficient payroll operations within a collaborative finance team.
The Role:
- Managed end-to-end payroll processing across multiple entities with both fortnightly and monthly pay cycles.
- Prepared and processed payroll inputs including hours worked, sickness, annual leave, pensions, and benefits administration.
- Ensured full compliance with payroll legislation through HMRC submissions, pension reporting, auto-enrolment checks, and year-end processes.
- Maintained accurate employee payroll records, issued payslips and P60s, and resolved payroll-related queries efficiently.
- Reconciled payroll, pension, and benefit data against financial systems, including monthly and year-end reporting.
- Produced payroll reports, maintained spreadsheets and presentations, and provided general administrative and document management support.
- Worked collaboratively within the wider finance team while maintaining compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, equality, and operational standards.
The Person
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- UK payroll processing experience.
- Skilled in Sage Payroll, Excel, and payroll/accounting systems.
- Strong knowledge of HMRC, pensions, and payroll compliance.
- Experience managing multiple payroll frequencies.
- Additional experience with MS Office 365, SharePoint, PSA, and Time & Attendance systems.
