Operations Manager

MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to lead our client's manufacturing operation and drive performance across safety, quality, delivery, people, and continuous improvement.

This is a key role within a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment, requiring a visible leader who enjoys being on the production floor, developing teams, and delivering operational excellence.

The role:

• Leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure customer orders are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
• Driving a strong safety-first culture across all departments and shifts
• Leading, coaching, and developing operational teams to achieve high performance
• Improving operational efficiency through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Managing KPIs, operational planning, and performance improvement projects
• Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales teams
• Supporting employee engagement, succession planning, and talent development
• Maintaining a strong presence across day, night, and weekend shifts as required
• Supporting customer satisfaction by resolving operational or quality issues professionally and effectively

Successful candidate:

You will be a proven operations manager with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, delivering results through strong leadership and operational improvement.

You will ideally have:

• 5+ years' experience in an Operations Management/ Production Management role within manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Experience leading large, multi-shift teams
• Excellent communication, organisational, and people management skills
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop teams
• Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation.
• Strong IT and reporting skills
