We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation to recruit an IT Technical Lead to support the delivery and evolution of critical IT services across a complex, enterprise-scale environment.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across infrastructure, cloud, and applications, while acting as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering and supporting IT services, working across project and operational environments. Acting as a technical lead and service owner, you'll collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and group-level technology functions to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned to business objectives.
This role offers strong exposure to cloud technologies, IT transformation, and enterprise systems, with real influence over how services are designed and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery (Core Focus)
- Lead the delivery of IT solutions across the full project lifecycle
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and architecture
- Provide direction during design, implementation, and go-live phases
- Act as IT Service/Application Owner for key systems
Cloud, Infrastructure & Systems
- Support cloud readiness and migration initiatives
- Contribute to infrastructure design and deployment of new solutions
- Maintain and evolve application and infrastructure roadmaps
- Work closely with group technology teams on integrated systems
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the technical interface between business units and wider IT teams
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and managed service providers
- Represent IT in change advisory and governance forums
Risk, Security & Resilience (Important but not dominant)
- Assess IT risks and security implications of new solutions
- Support operational resilience, disaster recovery, and continuity planning
- Contribute to security governance and compliance activities
Continuous Improvement & Engineering Best Practice
- Promote modern engineering practices including Agile and DevOps
- Support knowledge sharing, training, and simplification initiatives
- Stay current with emerging technologies across cloud and infrastructure
About You
Essential
- Experience delivering IT solutions within a project or change environment
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies and infrastructure
- Experience working across the full IT delivery lifecycle (ideally Agile)
- Ability to assess technical risk and contribute to secure solution design
- Knowledge of operational resilience, DR, and business continuity
Desirable
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS)
- Exposure to DevOps tools and practices
- Background in financial services or regulated environments
- Experience working with managed service providers
