IT Technical Business Analyst

MCS Group is proud to be supporting a well-established semi-state organisation operating within a large-scale enterprise environment as they seek an experienced ICT Application Analyst/Business Analyst to join their internal ICT team on a permanent basis.

This is a varied applications role suited to someone who enjoys combining business analysis, project delivery, stakeholder engagement, systems implementation, and ongoing application support. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering and enhancing business-critical systems across a diverse application landscape supporting users nationwide.

The environment includes a broad portfolio of enterprise applications, cloud technologies, SaaS platforms, and business systems as the organisation continues its digital transformation journey.

(Hybrid - Monday to Wednesday in office - Carlow)

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with business units to understand requirements and identify opportunities for process improvement through technology
• Gather, analyse, and document business and system requirements
• Design and deliver application solutions that meet business needs
• Manage application implementation projects from planning through to delivery
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and ensure successful solution adoption
• Oversee application enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing support activities
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers
• Ensure applications are effectively integrated with wider business systems and platforms
• Contribute to annual business planning, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain documentation, standards, and best practices across application support and project activities

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering or supporting business systems implementations
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Business Analysis
  • Application Development
  • Application Testing
  • IT Project Management

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience managing projects from initiation through implementation and support
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Level 8 qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Driving Licence in Ireland

Desirable Experience

• Business Analysis certification
• PRINCE2 certification
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Experience working with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
• Exposure to reporting tools and data analysis
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments
• Vendor management and procurement experience
• Experience supporting enterprise systems such as CRM or Finance platforms
• Experience working within large multi-site organisations
