Infrastructure Engineer - Email Security

MCS Group is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support a critical email security project. This Contract Infrastructure Engineer will focus on the migration from an existing email filtering platform to Mimecast, ensuring a secure, seamless transition with minimal disruption to users and business operations.

This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who has previously delivered Mimecast implementations/email security migrations.

The Role

• Lead the technical delivery of an email security migration to Mimecast
• Review and document existing email security, filtering and mail flow configurations
• Configure and administer Mimecast policies, services and integrations
• Manage mail routing, transport rules and gateway configurations
• Support SPF, DKIM and DMARC configuration and validation
• Develop migration and cutover plans
• Troubleshoot mail flow, security and delivery issues throughout the migration

The Person

• Prior experience implementing, administering or migrating to Mimecast
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
• Experience managing enterprise email security platforms
• Strong understanding of SMTP, mail routing and email authentication technologies
• Experience with SPF, DKIM and DMARC
• Ability to assess existing environments and produce migration plans
• Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Proofpoint, Barracuda or similar secure email gateways

Duration: Circa 3 months
Location: NI based client but can be worked remotely within the UK
Rate: £250 - £300 per day
