HR Officer - Permanent - Belfast (Hybrid)

The Opportunity

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading Belfast-based organisation to recruit a permanent HR Officer.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a busy HR team, taking ownership of employee relations while supporting managers across a fast-paced, unionised environment. The role has become available due to the current HR Officer progressing into a more senior position.

The Role

As HR Officer, you'll provide a proactive HR service across the business, partnering with managers to deliver effective people solutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Leading absence management and advising managers on HR policies and employment legislation.
• Building strong relationships with Trade Union representatives and supporting consultation meetings.
• Driving employee engagement initiatives across the Northern Ireland business.
• Supporting day-to-day HR operations, employee life cycle administration and HR reporting.

About You

We're keen to speak with experienced HR professionals who can confidently manage complex employee relations matters.

You'll ideally have:

• A third-level qualification in HR, Business or a related discipline.
• CIPD qualification (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a generalist HR Officer role.
• Strong employee relations experience, with the ability to manage cases independently.
• Experience working within a unionised environment.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills.
