HR Business Partner - 12 month FTC - Belfast
MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation to recruit an HR Business Partner on a 12-month specified purpose contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong people-first culture, supporting a large operational workforce across multiple sites in Northern Ireland.
The role:
Working closely with senior operational leaders, you will provide commercially focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle while helping to drive engagement, performance and organisational effectiveness.
The main responsibilities:
- Partner with operational leadership teams to deliver proactive, commercially focused HR support.
- Coach and advise managers on employee relations, industrial relations, performance management, engagement, succession planning and organisational development.
- Build positive working relationships with trade union representatives and support collective consultation and industrial relations activity.
- Lead on complex employee relations cases and provide expert employment law guidance.
- Support organisational change initiatives and culture development across multiple operational sites.
- Work alongside specialist recruitment teams to support hiring and onboarding activity.
- Review workforce planning requirements and support payroll and resource planning processes.
- Lead and contribute to wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive engagement initiatives and support managers in creating high-performing teams.
- Champion best practice HR policies, procedures and people management standards.
The ideal candidate:
- Similar experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Strong experience supporting managers within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proven industrial relations experience, including working with recognised trade unions.
- Strong employee relations knowledge with experience managing complex casework.
- Strong working knowledge of NI employment law, with proven experience providing HR advice and guidance in line with NI employment legislation.
