Financial Accountant - Belfast

MCS Group are delighted to be partnered with a leading organisation within the utilities sector as they look to appoint a Financial Accountant to join their established finance team.

The Company:

Our client is a well established organisation operating within the utilities industry, providing essential services across the island of Ireland. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end close and partnering with stakeholders across the wider business.

This opportunity would suit a qualified accountant looking to build on their financial reporting experience within a large, commercially focused organisation while gaining exposure to a highly regulated and evolving sector.

The Rewards:

As the successful Financial Accountant, you will receive:

• £40,000 - £44,000 base salary
• Annual bonus

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

• Supporting the month-end close process, including journals, accruals and reconciliations;
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting year-end audit activities
• Business partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to provide financial insight

The Person:

The successful Financial Accountant will meet the following criteria:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Strong financial reporting and month-end accounting experience
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse financial date
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
