Ready to play an important role behind the scenes in patient care? This is an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Science Assistant to join a busy Pathology department, supporting the delivery of essential diagnostic services that make a real difference to patient outcomes every day.

MCS Group are proud to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation in their search for a Healthcare Science Assistant (Band 3) to join their Pathology team on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for a highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail who enjoys working in a fast-paced laboratory environment and wants to contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

The Role:

* Receiving, preparing and processing patient specimens for laboratory testing
* Accurately recording patient information and maintaining laboratory records
* Supporting Biomedical Scientists with the day-to-day running of the laboratory
* Operating, cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment in line with procedures
* Ensuring all work complies with quality standards, health & safety, and infection prevention policies
* Assisting with stock control and the general organisation of the laboratory environment
* Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver an efficient diagnostic service

The Person

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential:

  • 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) including English literature as well as one science subject.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records

📍 Location: Western Trust

💰 Salary: £24,862.5

📄 Contract: Full-time temporary assignment
