MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a market-leading home textiles and lifestyle business to recruit an Area Sales Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected organisation with a long-standing heritage, strong brand recognition, and an enviable customer base across the UK and Ireland.
Having established itself as a trusted partner to some of the region's most recognisable retailers, the business continues to invest in growth, customer relationships, and product innovation. This role will play a key part in driving that growth across the Island of Ireland through a combination of account management, relationship building, and new business development.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing retail customer accounts, with a focus on maximising growth opportunities within key revenue-generating relationships
- Build strong relationships with store managers, buyers, and key stakeholders to increase product visibility and secure additional space in-store
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the Island of Ireland, driving sustainable sales growth and market share gains
- Regularly visit customer sites, maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor and ensuring excellent service levels
- Influence buying decisions through effective relationship management, product knowledge, and commercial awareness
- Collaborate with internal colleagues across sales, support, and trading functions to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
- Manage consignment stock relationships and ensure stock levels, merchandising, and product presentation are optimised
- Develop strategic account plans to drive long-term growth and strengthen the company's position as a trusted category partner
- Operate autonomously, effectively planning customer visits, managing territory coverage, and prioritising growth opportunities
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a field sales, account management, business development, or customer-facing commercial role
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Experience engaging with professional buyers and retail stakeholders
- Self-motivated and highly organised, with the ability to manage your own schedule and territory effectively
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Island of Ireland
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within retail, homewares, textiles, fashion, lifestyle products, or hospitality sectors
- Existing relationships with retail customers operating within the Irish market
- Experience managing a mix of account development and new business responsibilities
- Understanding of merchandising, category management, or retail space planning
