About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Service Delivery Manager to join our Payroll Service Centre (PSC). The PSC provides vital payroll services for Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland (HSCNI), ensuring that employees are paid accurately and efficiently.

Working closely with the Deputy Head & Head of HSCNI Payroll, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of high-quality payroll services while managing a large team. This is a demanding leadership role focused on maintaining high service levels, driving process improvements, and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the HSCNI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Manage the day-to-day operations of Payroll delivery teams, ensuring all targets and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Strategic Support: Assist in identifying strategic priorities and risks, and deputise for the Deputy Head of PSC when necessary.
  • Service Improvement: Identify and implement innovative process improvements to enhance service excellence and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders to address performance and service delivery.
  • Culture: Promote a positive, supportive, and open team culture through collective leadership and effective staff engagement.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: A University Degree or relevant professional qualification in a Finance or Business-related discipline.
  • People Management: A minimum of 2 years' experience managing teams and achieving results through others.
  • Stakeholder Relations: At least 2 years' experience working with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Improvement Initiatives: A proven track record of leading successful performance improvement initiatives.
  • Valid driving licence and access to a car on appointment (criteria will be waived if disability prohibits driving)

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in a shared service or centralised delivery environment
  • CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualified or willing to work toward this qualification.

The Package

  • Flexibility: Enjoy a hybrid working model after onboarding
  • Salary: PAYE £28.48/h | £55,690 annual salary
  • Duration: Initially 6 Months
  • Start: March 2026
  • Full Time, Monday-Friday 37.5hours/week
