Senior Software Developer (JavaScript)

MCS is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer to join an NI software house in the Tech for Good space.

My client is a homegrown and highly successful product company with offices in America & Europe who provides cutting-edge solutions for reading, numeracy and language difficulties. Their products are used by schools and workplaces worldwide and are quickly becoming the number 1 brand within assisted technology with over 50 million users.

The Role

• Design and develop high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers
• Participate in the development of technical documentation
• Contribute to the development of our overall software development process, including code reviews, version control, and continuous integration/continuous delivery
• Work alongside our UX designers to implement the best user interface and user experience
• Work with our Infrastructure team who will assist with hosting and server configurations, and ensure that all software meets the highest standards of security

About you:

• 4+ years' experience in a client and server side Javascript development role at an intermediate level using HTML and CSS
• Experience of web development technologies (e.g., React, D3 charting, EJS templating)
• Exposure to backend technologies e.g. Node.js
• Openness to working across the full-stack
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, including design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git)
