MCS Group is partnering exclusively with a truly innovative and completely unique UK technology company in their search for a customer-facing Software Architect. With innovation at the heart of everything they do, they have spun out some fascinating cutting-edge products in the AI and Machine Learning space over recent years along with partnering with some of world's biggest brands to deliver cutting-edge software products. With a team of close to 50 working across the UK, 2024 is shaping up to be a huge year of growth for the business and this Software Architect will play a key role in that growth, helping bridge the gap between our clients technical and commercial teams.
This is the perfect role for a technologist who is passionate about working with customers and feels their future lies in a more commercial role as opposed to coding day-to-day!
This is predominantly a work from home role, but the successful candidate will be expected to travel 1-2 days per week to work with clients across the south of England; think Bristol, Southampton and London. Candidates must also be eligible for security clearance due to nature of customer projects.
The Software Architect will sit within our client's commercial team, supporting software projects from both a technical and commercial standpoint, while having the mentorship of (and a dotted line to) the CTO.
You'll work with clients (primarily in the defence sector) to scope requirements, helping them understand the problems they are looking technology to solve and relaying that back to the wider business and software engineering teams.
You'll fulfil a pre-sales function, keeping the commercial teams on track and having input into determining resourcing and timelines of projects.
You'll play a key role in scoping out projects from both a technical and business stand point.
You'll get involved in uncovering further opportunities from a business development perspective through building relationships with client stakeholders.
You'll be really successful in this position if you have:
A technical background in software development - you've been a developer and software engineer and understand the SDLC, with a track record in designing software applications from the ground up.
Experience of working previously (or an interest in) on Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning, LLM, GPT AI projects.
You're passionate about working with customers - a track record of working directly clients and customers to build and deliver software projects.
Strong communication skills and previous consultancy experience.
Experience of working within the defence sector or at the very least delivering software within government and/or public sector environments.
Flexibility to travel and work with UK customers directly
Up to and around £110,000 with a tailored benefits package which includes bonus and commission.
