HR Business Partner

MCS Group are working with Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service to recruit a HR Business Partner to join their People and Culture Department. This is a key strategic role providing expert HR advice, guidance and support to middle and senior managers across operational command areas and corporate support functions.
The postholder will play a vital role in delivering a modern, responsive HR service, supporting the implementation of the People & Culture Strategy and contributing to the achievement of organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR advice on employee relations, policy application and national agreements
- Support senior leaders with complex HR and organisational change matters
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership teams and trade unions
- Lead and support employee relations casework, including hearings and appeals
- Contribute to HR policy development and organisational projects
- Produce HR analytics and management information to support decision-making
- Support recruitment activity, staff wellbeing initiatives and learning & development delivery
- Deputise for the HR Manager, Employee Relations and Business Partnering as required
Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:
Option 1
- Degree (Level 6) qualification
- Current professional membership of the CIPD
- Minimum 3 years' HR experience advising on core employee relations issues in a unionised organisation
OR
Option 2
- Degree (Level 6) qualification
- Working towards CIPD professional membership
- Minimum 5 years' HR experience advising on core employee relations issues in a unionised organisation
And must demonstrate:
- Experience providing HR advice at senior management level
- Experience producing HR management information and reports
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (reasonable adjustments apply)
The role
- Temporary assignment, initially for 6 months
- Pay rate £24.41 per hour
- Monday- Friday, 36.25 hours per week
- Hybrid working after initial settling in period
