Waste Manager- Operations

MCS Group is currently working in partnership with a public sector organisation to recruit an Waste Manager- Looking after operations on a long term temporary contract (3 months with the view to extension). Excellent hourly rate - £26.62 + benefits.

The Role:

• Provide strong, innovative leadership for Council Waste Operations, taking day-to-day responsibility for staff, budgets, facilities, equipment and service delivery across waste collections, street cleansing, recycling centres and depots.

• Lead, develop and support high-performing operational teams, managing performance, training needs, annual appraisals, attendance, and employee relations matters in line with Council policies.

• Plan, manage and continuously improve waste and street cleansing services, ensuring consistently high standards, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction and delivery of Winter Operations.

• Develop, implement and review strategic policies, business plans, performance improvement plans and risk registers, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

• Manage financial and operational performance, including budget control, asset maintenance and replacement programmes, performance reporting and contributing to annual estimates.

• Act as a key professional advisor to the Head of Waste Operations, deputising as required, producing management and committee reports, and contributing to community planning and cross-departmental working.

• Engage proactively with customers, communities and partners to deliver efficient, responsive services, while working flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours duties and emergency support when required.

The Person:

• Relevant degree in a subject relating too environmental management.

• Experience in managing team, budget, facilities and devloping improvement plans.

• Microsoft office experiece.
