Technical Lead/ Engineering Manager

MCS Group are delighted to be working with a global technology company with a large engineering presence in Belfast. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team.

This role would suit someone who has been a strong technical engineer and is now looking to step into a management position. You should have some mentoring or leadership experience, supporting other engineers and helping guide technical direction, and be keen to move into a more formal people leadership role.

The company operates internationally across multiple regions and works with major global brands across financial services and retail. Their platform powers large-scale digital programmes used by millions of consumers worldwide, and the Belfast office is a key engineering and product hub supporting this global platform.

Following a recent acquisition by an AI-focused technology company, the organisation is entering a new phase of growth, with significant investment in AI, data, and platform innovation.

The Role

This is an Engineering Manager position combining people leadership and technical guidance.

You'll lead a senior technical team responsible for platform and DevOps capabilities, helping drive engineering best practices, support platform modernisation, and enable teams across the business to build and scale effectively.

The role is hands-off from a coding perspective, but you'll work closely with engineers to guide technical direction, support delivery, and help push the platform forward.

This role could suit someone who is:

• An Engineering Manager, or
• A Tech Lead / Lead Engineer who has been mentoring engineers and is ready to step into a people leadership role.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys leading engineers, shaping technical direction, and improving how teams build and deliver platforms at scale within a growing international technology organisation.
