QA Engineer

MCS Group is proud to be partnering with an exclusive client at the forefront of IoT innovation. We're seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to take ownership of testing complex embedded systems, developing automation frameworks, and ensuring world-class product reliability for a really interesting and scaling product.

You'll collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams to validate next-generation features and deliver robust solutions that reach customers around the globe. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on cutting-edge IoT technology, while driving quality, automation, and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

• The test engineer will design and execute smart test strategies with a strong emphasis on automation.

• Running both manual and automated tests across embedded features.

• Building and maintaining automation frameworks (Python or similar).

• Debugging and validating system behaviour with tools such as Wireshark and Postman.

• Performing regression, performance, stress, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

• Documenting results, raising clear defect reports, and working closely with developers on resolutions.

• Leading process improvements, root-cause analysis, and investigations into customer issues.

What we're looking for

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Strong background in QA or systems testing, ideally with exposure to video, IoT, firmware or embedded systems.

• Skilled in both manual and automated testing.

• Exposure to Python automation.

• Solid grasp of QA practices, testing methodologies, and hardware/software interactions.

• Strong analytical and debugging skills, with excellent communication.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Bonus points for:

• Experience with C programming.

• Familiarity with Postman, TestRail, or similar tools.

Salary

• Up to £55,000 with bonus, enhanced pension and private healthcare
