Are you a Payroll Specialist looking to build on your experience with a large public sector organisation? This is a great opportunity to work within a great HR team, providing specialist advice and administrative support. This is a 6 month fixed-term contract in Belfast.

You will process monthly payroll, adhering to strict deadlines and rectifying any discrepancies as required. You will maintain key employment data on the HR system, ensuring employee records are up to date and all transactions are processed promptly. You will process all HMRC transactions, including in-year and end-of-year forms, as well as dealing with all payroll or general HR queries.

You will use your specialist knowledge of payroll regulations, systems and processes, data analytics and financial accounting skills to effectively manage the payroll process. You will maintain an email and telephone support desk to support with queries relating to payroll, employee relations, recruitment, absence, pensions and benefits. You will use your strong communication skills and payroll expertise to deal with all queries promptly and efficiently.

The person

You will have a good understanding of both HR and payroll functions, with a strong ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks. To be considered for the role you must demonstrate the below:

  • Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs, grade C or above (to include English and Maths) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a high volume HR/Payroll administrative function for at least 250+ employees.
  • Experience of inputting payroll
  • Experience providing advice and support to employees and management on terms and conditions of employment, HR/payroll policies and procedures and statutory payments.
  • Experience liaising with external stakeholders- HMRC, pension bodies, trade unions, courts, systems providers etc.
  • Experience of using Oracle HR/payroll modules or similar
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Location: Belfast
