The Role
The Management Accountant position is pivotal in supporting the financial operations of the Fire and Rescue Service and supporting Managers across the organisation. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, delivery of management accounts managing budgets, forecasting and providing strategic insight to drive informed decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the organisation.
- Provide financial support to Senior Managers and budget holders
- Timeline delivery of management accounts and monitoring returns
- Manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Contribute to strategic planning and manage risk.
The Person
The ideal candidate for the Management Accountant role will be a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong background in financial management and management accounts
Essential:
- CCAB Fully Qualified Accountant with 2 years relevant financial management experience, including management accounts OR part-qualified, with 2 years relevant experience.
- Demonstrate relevant experience in a large, complex organisation.
- 2 years experience managing a team to deliver results within a target driven environment.
- Possess a current, valid driving licence or if a disability prohibits driving, have access to a form of transport that allows you to meet the requirements of the post in full.

- Competitive hourly rate of £22.66 per hour
- Full-time position for approximately 6 months with potential extension
