ICT Technician

MCS Group has a position available for an Information Technology Support Officer based at a regional headquarters. This IT professional will join a key public body, primarily on-site, to support and deliver an extensive range of IT systems. You will use your existing technical skill set to ensure effective service delivery across the organisation's infrastructure throughout Northern Ireland. This role is vital in maintaining the Help Desk Management System, managing hardware inventories, and supporting critical software applications.

• Provide end-user support and undertake complex fault diagnosis and resolution for all internal IT systems.
• Manage the Help Desk Management System, investigating faults and liaising with third-party maintainers for timely resolutions.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets and manage equipment loans.
• Perform installation, testing, and maintenance of all new and existing hardware and software applications.
• Participate in security rotas (including backup tape management).
• Conduct site visits across various premises for repairs, maintenance, and IT development assessments.

Essential Criteria:

Candidates must meet one of the following qualification/experience requirements:

• University Degree (or equivalent ICT qualification) plus 1 year of experience in the installation and support of network-based computer equipment (PCs, printers, data switches).
• OR HND (or equivalent ICT qualification) plus 2 years of experience in the installation and support of network-based computer equipment.
• OR a minimum of 4 years of experience in the installation and support of network-based computer equipment.

Additionally, applicants must have:

• Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft desktop application software and Windows 2003 server.
• Working knowledge and experience of Help Desk Management Systems.
• Working knowledge and experience of Intranet/Internet Portal Systems and Technologies.
• A current full driving licence (or access to a form of transport allowing full meeting of post requirements)

Working Arrangements & Benefits

• Location: Trust Headquarters, with travel required to premises throughout Northern Ireland.
• Salary: Band: 5 | £15.88/h PAYE (£30,966/y Pro-rata)
• Starting: April 2026

• Duration: Approx 6 Months initialy
