HR Consultant - Belfast - FTC (3 Months)

MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a rapidly growing organisation to recruit an HR Consultant for a 3-month fixed-term contract based in Belfast. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and evolving business during a period of significant transformation.

Our client is a well-established, multi-site organisation operating across the island of Ireland, currently experiencing strong growth and strategic development. Role & Responsibilities

As HR Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the HR function through a period of change and development. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will contribute to project-based work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review and update HR policies and employment contracts to align with revised benefits structures (e.g. company cars, mileage, expenses) following tax and compliance recommendations
  • Work closely with the Chartered Accountant and key stakeholders to ensure all changes are compliant with current tax legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Translate findings into clear, practical HR and contractual updates
  • Lead employee consultation process with approximately 50 staff, ensuring clear communication of changes and managing queries effectively
  • Draft and issue updated contractual documentation, ensuring consistency and legal accuracy across all employee groups
  • Provide guidance to managers and leadership on the implementation of new benefits and policy changes
  • Support change management and ensure a smooth transition to updated terms and conditions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all changes are properly recorded and auditable

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong generalist HR experience with a focus on employee relations, policy development and contract updates
  • Proven experience reviewing and updating policies and benefits structures (e.g. expenses, mileage, company cars)
  • Good understanding of employment law and tax implications of employee benefits, ideally with exposure to finance or external advisors
  • Experience leading employee consultations and communicating contractual changes clearly and effectively
  • Able to manage a short-term project independently, working closely with stakeholders to deliver compliant and practical solutions
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable
