Our client, a well-established organisation based in Derry, is recruiting an HR Assistant to join their HR team on a permanent basis.

This role is suited to an experienced HR Assistant or Junior HR Officer with strong administrative skills and hands-on HR experience who is keen to grow within a busy, people-focused environment.

The Role
As an HR Assistant, you will provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the HR Manager and wider management team. You will help ensure HR processes run smoothly and remain compliant, supporting areas such as recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and general HR coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across HR activities, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Coordinate recruitment processes, including posting job adverts, arranging interviews, and communicating with candidates
  • Support onboarding and induction, preparing contracts, checking Right to Work documents, and completing new starter records
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring data is accurate and up to date
  • Prepare HR correspondence and assist with probation reviews and employee lifecycle activities
  • Produce and update HR reports, providing information to managers when required
  • Take minutes at employee relations meetings, including disciplinary and investigation meetings
  • Manage annual leave administration and assist with HR projects and process improvements

The Ideal Candidate

  • CIPD qualified, or degree in HR or related discipline
  • Previous experience in a junior HR role
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with good attention to detail
  • Professional and able to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience using HRIS
