Finance Officer

The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust are looking to recruit a temporary Finance Assistant to work in Ards Community Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to get experience working in a large public sector organisation, working closely with the Finance Manager.

You will liaise with senior staff, assisting with their understanding of budgets and finance queries. You will assist with the annual budget setting process, as well as assisting in highlighting risks to the trusts financial stability by identifying any potential threats. You will assist in developing cash releasing efficiency plans, recovery plans and contingency plans for the directorate.

You will assist in developing the use of financial systems, reporting and enquiry tools to advance the quality and efficiency of Financial Management information. You will also deal with ad hoc reporting and enquiries as required.

You will have

• A degree or AAT/HND Qualified and 2 years relevant finance experience or Part Qualified wtih a CCAB recognised body and 1 year's relevant experience
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, with the ability to manipulate large data sets and provide analysis
• Knowledge of accounting principles including accruals and prepayments
• Ideally experience in management accounts and investigating variances

The role

Location: Newtownards

Pay: £15.33 per hour

Benefits: Hybrid working

Duration: temporary role until 31st March 2026, with possibility of extension
