Our client is a well-established charitable organisation that operates across multiple locations. Their mission is to support individuals at risk of homelessness by providing shared tenancies, employment assistance, and tailored support to help people get back on their feet. The Role

The Finance Officer will play a pivotal role in overseeing all finance-related activities within the organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Services, this position will involve supervising finance operations, implementing policies, and acting as the main liaison with the external payroll and management accounts provider. Key responsibilities include:

  • Organising and supervising all finance activities across the organisation.
  • Advising and implementing finance policies and procedures.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for external finance providers.
  • Preparing annual budgets and financial reports.

The Person

The ideal candidate for the Finance Officer position will have a strong background in finance and excellent communication skills. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently within a supportive team environment.

Essential:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance environment and a relevant finance qualification, OR 4 years of experience in a finance environment.
  • Experience with purchase ledger and sales ledger work.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting software packages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a charitable or non-profit organisation.
  • Familiarity with hybrid working environments.
