Finance Manager

We are delighted to be partnering with a public sector organisation to recruit a Finance Manager, offering the opportunity to play a key role in leading financial management, strengthening governance frameworks and supporting strategic decision-making.

The role:

• Lead the Finance and Governance teams, managing day-to-day operations and staff performance
• Ensure effective financial control, governance and compliance with public sector regulations
• Oversee budgeting, cashflow management and funded programme expenditure
• Prepare annual accounts and monthly financial reports, supporting audit and Audit & Risk Committee processes
• Manage procurement, business cases, grant verification and fraud control procedures
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership and key stakeholders
• Contribute to corporate planning, risk management and continuous organisational improvement

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

Essential:

• Fully qualified member of a recognised professional accountancy body (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience ensuring strong corporate governance and financial compliance
• Proven ability to prepare statutory financial statements and management accounts to strict deadlines
• Experience managing and monitoring budgets exceeding £500k annually
• Skilled in liaising with auditors and implementing audit recommendations
• Experience leading, managing and motivating staff
• Full UK driving licence with access to transport (reasonable adjustments considered where applicable)
